The Ride to Conquer Cancer

I have had 2 close friends in the past couple of years diagnosed with breast cancer and thanks to early detection both have beat the disease. My husband has lost both parents to cancer in the past few years and will be riding in this event to raise funds for research. It is a pretty awful path to travel watching someone you know and love battle with any form of cancer so help us contribute to this history-making event with a donation.

Last yearI was involved as a crew member assisting the many riders, including my husband Col, that took up the cycle challenge. I was so inspired that I bought a bike and started to train (not bad since I has just turned 50)

Funds raised in The Ride to Conquer Cancer will support breakthrough research, exemplary teaching, and compassionate care at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research, a worldwide leader in cancer research and discovery and one of the largest research institutes in the southern hemisphere.

Melbourne Cup 2011

The first Brisbane based event of its kind, the inaugural Melbourne Cup Brisbane day was a stunning success (even though we say so ourselves!).

The 310 guests were not only treated to an amazing lunch menu in a huge marquee trackside at Eagle Farm Race Course, a real show was put on with a dazzling performance by acrobats from Aerial Angels, and all guests arrived in style at the venue in a stretch Hummer. We’d also like to thank our sponsors who helped make the day a great success – Sirromet, Get Hummered, Aircon Rentals, Viking Toilets and Coca Cola Amatil.
